BidAir Services (PTY) Ltd., a company 100% held subsidiary of the BIDVest Group Ltd. was formed in 2005 in order to combine and manage a number of Bidvest Group Ltd. companies in an aviation services focussed unit. Initially comprising of just two business units, Airport Handling Services and Express Air Services, the division has since expanded in order to provide a full menu of ground handling services. BidAir Services is in the unique position of being the only wholly South African ground handling company operating in this market and as such has a complete "handle" on this operating environment.
BidAir Services currently provides quality handling services, passenger handling, ramp handling, load control and operations, cleaning and toilet and water services, to more than 25 international and domestic airlines flying into South Africa, these services are offered at the following ACSA airports; Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, East London and George. Since March 2008 BidAir Services has handled in excess of 500 000 flights.
During our first year of operation (2008) BidAir Services was awarded the ACSA "Feather Award" for Airside Service Provider of the Year at all six airports at which we operate. This was the first and subsequently only time that a single service provider has held all six awards simultaneously!
The Soccer World Cup during 2010 was a wonderful showcase for the capabilities of South Africa and South African enterprises saw a huge increase in activity by air and BidAir Services was well able to demonstrate its ability to continue to deliver world class handling services during this period.
Another highlight for BidAir Services during 2010 has been the successful introduction of scheduled A380 services to JNB by two airlines. We can quite proudly say that we are the most experienced handler of this aircraft type on the African continent.
The BidAir Services business units maintain their own operational management structure and are therefore able to clearly focus on their core operational competencies thereby ensuring that agreed standards are consistently achieved and that client expectations are exceeded. This focus on operational aspects of the service delivery chain offers an unrivalled service commitment that will clearly demonstrate BidAir Services drive to provide previously unheard of levels of service in the airport arena. We see this as being the service differentiator that will not only deliver satisfactory service levels to our airline clients but also ensure the on-going success of our company.
All services are carried out in accordance with the IATA Airport Handling Manual (AHM) procedures and recommended practises. The BidAir Services Quality Management Plan covers all operational aspects. This plan has been developed and implemented internally and has been adopted as a standard by all BidAir Services units. We are also ISAGO accredited.
Furthermore BidAir Services offers a comprehensive charter and meet and greet services throughout South and Southern Africa which can cater for the most discerning of people.
Our sister company BidAir Cargo provides comprehensive cargo handling services as well as a well-developed cargo outsourcing product that has been adopted by a number of domestic and regional airlines.
